About me
Licensed Professional Therapist
At Path of Hope, my focus is on you. I offer a friendly, non-judgmental, and safe place to share your concerns. I am very interested in helping you overcome obstacles and attain to the full potential of your life and your relationships.
In counseling you have an opportunity to look at the different areas of your life and how you can capitalize on growth opportunities and strengths. In couples counseling I use proven approaches, such as the Gottman method. I focus on developing healthy boundaries and creating a safe space for each of you to share without the other becoming critical, defensive, or shut down. Upon this foundation other necessary changes can take place. Minds and hearts can change, and even deeply ingrained patterns can be transformed. There is so much hope!
Over the years I have seen tremendous results with EMDR, a therapy that desentsitizes trauma and helps your brain and nervous system to heal. As an approved consultant, I coach other counselors in getting started with EMDR.
I was born and raised in Norway, and came to the United States to go to Bible School. My husband and I have been married for 40 years, and we have two grown daughters and five grandchildren. We have spent many years in ministry of various kinds. I am the founder of Women in Community, an organization dedicated to supporting and mentoring women in leadership (www.wicglobal.net).
I love music, the outdoors, and being with family. I am a foracious reader and love to write as well.

ENJOYING THE JOURNEY OF TRANSFORMATION
by Cecilie Croissant
The journey of transformation and growth definitely has its challenges! But your journey can actually become enjoyable as you learn to tap into your inner resources of healing and growth. In this book I describe my own journey of learning biblical truth that helped me through difficult times. You can get the book here.
My Approach & Values
Your strengths are important in therapy. Even though you may feel inadequate or totally defeated, believe me, your strengths are still there! As we work together, you will find evidence after evidence of gifts, skills, courage, and resillience within you.
One of my most important values are authenticity, freedom, and unconditional acceptance. These are values I work to uphold in myself and in my counseling room.
My approach is systemic, meaning that I look at the context of family of origin, present family relationships, early attachment patterns, and how all this relates to the issues at hand. I so appreciate the fact that the brain has full capacity to change throughout our lifetime (neuroplasticity). This gives you hope, especially when there is a proven path to get there!
I believe God gives us clear wisdom of how to navigate life successfully. His principles work every time just as much as the physical laws of the world. God’s ability within you can bring about lasting transformation as you learn to partner with Him.
